Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to support equipment construction, installation, debugging, and startup at domestic and international sites. You will work with internal teams, contractors, and partners to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality installation and conversion projects.

Ideal candidates have a controls engineering background and hands-on experience with PLC/PC-based systems, Beckhoff or B&R controls, and a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering or related field.
• 2–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using PLC and PC-based systems (Beckhoff, B&R).
• Experience on a manufacturing floor or construction site with focus on safety.
• Knowledge of power systems up to 480VAC.
• Ability to work hands-on with tools, instruments and alignment devices.
• Ability to interpret engineering requirements and support equipment design/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support equipment installation, setup, debugging, and startup through turnover to operations.
• Learn and understand process and equipment functions including I/O, control logic, fail-safe states, and recovery sequences.
• Coordinate with system integrators and machine builders to deliver integrated equipment systems on time and within project goals.
• Assist with development and modification of industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Partner with Technology Development, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to improve equipment designs and reduce cost.
