Job summary

Corning is seeking a Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer to support construction, installation, debug, and startup of equipment across domestic and international sites. The role involves hands-on floor work, supervising technicians, and coordinating with contractors during installation and conversion projects.

You will work on control systems, troubleshoot electrical drawings, and ensure safety compliance while traveling to Corning Optical Fiber sites in NC and abroad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Controls Engineering or a related field.
• 2–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience on a manufacturing floor or construction environment with a strong safety focus.
• Knowledge of power systems for 480VAC and below.

Responsibilities

• Develop and use project plans and timelines to achieve goals while maintaining safety, IP, and quality.
• Ensure safety training and compliance across the project team; identify safety issues.
• Understand process and equipment functions in area of responsibility.
• Analyze and improve equipment installation practices to boost efficiency and schedules.
• Interface with external integrators and machine builders to deliver integrated process equipment on time and budget.
• Understand machine controls for analog/digital I/O, control sequences, fail-safe states.
