Velvet Caviar is seeking a Production Manager to oversee overseas manufacturing for new collections and restocks, ensuring quality, timing, and cost targets. You will collaborate with the U.S. team and manufacturing partners to keep launches on schedule and on budget.

The role requires hands-on experience with plastics, molding, printing, and finishes, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills. Hybrid work in NYC supports collaboration with Product Development and Design.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing overseas production for consumer products.
• Experience handling bulk production from PO to quality approval.
• Hands-on overseas manufacturing experience, ideally in China.
• Ability to review specs, coordinate inspections, resolve defects.
• Strong negotiation on costs, MOQs, terms, and lead times.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with vendors.
• Detail-oriented with multi-factory and multi-product management.
• Experience with plastic injection molding, printing, finishes is a plus.
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Own bulk production for new collections and restocks, ensuring specs, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Coordinate overseas manufacturers on execution, capacity, status, and issues.
• Build production schedules aligned with launches and replenishment.
• Create and manage purchase orders with the Demand Planner.
• Ensure samples, artwork, materials, packaging meet specs before bulk.
• Manage pre-production and bulk sample reviews and approvals.
• Oversee production WIP reporting with milestones and risk updates.
• Negotiate costs, MOQs, payment terms, and lead times to improve margins.
• Enforce QC requirements, coordinate inspections and corrective actions.
• Ensure packaging, labeling, carton and wholesale compliance with Logistics.
• Coordinate shipment readiness with Logistics, finalize dates and docs.
• Review invoices vs POs, resolve discrepancies prior to payment.
• Investigate shortages, defects, and noncompliance; pursue credits.
• Evaluate factory performance and drive process improvements.
• Report production performance and risks to leadership with recovery plans.
