Velvet Caviar in New York seeks a Surface Print & Pattern Designer with strong illustration and pattern design skills to support its growing product and design team; you will shape seasonal collections and new product categories.

Collaborate with the Senior Designer and Product Team, create factory-ready tech packs, mockups, and packaging concepts; stay current on fashion and lifestyle print trends while maintaining organized digital archives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in print, surface, or graphic design (fashion, accessories, or textiles preferred).
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong hand and digital illustration skills; ability to sketch concepts clearly.
• Solid understanding of color theory and composition in print layouts.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple timelines.
• Self-motivated and flexible, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• Familiarity with production processes and preparing files for factories is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Designer and Product Team to research seasonal concepts that reflect the brand vision, storytelling themes, and emerging industry trends.
• Design seasonal collections, contributing creative input and executing concepts across products and categories.
• Create factory-ready tech packs across a range of products and devices, ensuring accuracy and clarity in specifications.
• Create product mockups to visualize design intent across categories.
• Contribute to the development of new product categories by generating ideas, conducting research, and executing design solutions.
• Flat sketch designs cleanly and consistently for both internal use and production.
• Contribute to packaging design, supporting the visual development of packaging assets that align with brand and product goals.
• Maintain and organize the digital design archive, ensuring all files are up to date and consistently labeled.
• Conduct creative research to support seasonal development, including collaborations, vintage references, and broader brand initiatives.
• Stay up to date on print, color, and material trends within fashion and lifestyle spaces.
• Contribute concepts and inspiration to seasonal print collections and design reviews.
