Teradyne, a global test and automation specialist, seeks a Product Safety Engineer for the San Jose, CA office to drive safety and compliance across multiple divisions. You will collaborate with design and test teams to perform risk assessments, conduct circuit- to system-level analyses, and ensure documentation is complete and current.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years in product safety, knowledge of IEC/EN61010-1, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in product safety and compliance engineering.
• Strong understanding of IEC/EN 61010-1 safety standards.
• Experience with SEMI S2/S8 and IEC 60825-1 is a plus.
• Hands-on product safety testing abilities.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams and drive compliance to closure.

Aufgaben

• Manage product safety and EMC compliance activities in collaboration with San Jose, CA based development teams.
• Integrate with design teams to drive early risk assessment and pre-compliance work.
• Coordinate internal and external testing events, including interfacing with certification suppliers, competent bodies, and test labs.
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate safety regulations and standards, including CE, NRTL, SEMI, and others.
• Conduct product safety analysis from circuit-level schematics/wiring diagrams to system-level designs.
• Provide formal safety recommendations to engineering teams based on analysis.
• Ensure continuing compliance by maintaining Test Reports, Constructional Data Forms (CDF), and Technical Construction Files (TCF).
• Coordinate EMC pre-compliance and validation activities.
• Communicate and deploy best practices for safety compliance.
• Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 10%.
