Job summary

TÜV SÜD America is seeking an Electrical Product Safety Engineer in the San Diego area to advance safety testing and compliance of electrical/electronic products. You will perform standardized safety tests and help assess components under EN/IEC/UL 62368-1, 61010-1, 60335-1, and related standards.

You will review schematics, BOMs, and manuals, prepare data and reports, and collaborate with senior engineers on consumer electronics, lab equipment, EV charging, and energy storage technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in electrical product safety testing or compliance labs.
• Working knowledge of IEC/UL 62368-1, 61010-1, 60335-1 or similar standards.

Responsibilities

• Support product safety evaluations and testing to applicable standards.
• Review technical docs, schematics, BOMs, and manuals.
• Prepare test data, engineering notes, and reports.
• Communicate findings with clients and project teams.
• Assist with ISO/IEC 17025 lab operations.
