Job summary
Dematic in Grand Rapids is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to ensure quality from concept through launch and sustained production. You will work across Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, Validation, and Quality teams to identify risks early, define quality expectations, and provide an independent view of product readiness.
Focus on AMCS new developments with a proactive, prevention-centered approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
- Minimum five years of professional quality experience in product/project/engineering settings.
- Experience with automated material handling or mechatronic products preferred.
- Experience with APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, control plans, RCA, 8D, CAPA and validation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Product Quality representative for global product-development programs.
- Define, align, and monitor Product Quality requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Lead quality risk activities including DFMEA/PFMEA and risk assessments.
- Perform pre-milestone and launch-readiness assessments.
- Coordinate launch and manufacturing-readiness with R&D and Validation.
- Support structured root-cause analysis and CAPA actions.
- Transfer lessons learned into new R&D programs to improve Quality methods.
