Department: Microgrids
Reports To: VP of Microgrid Solutions
Who we are
Delta, founded in 1971, is a global provider of power and thermal management solutions. Its mission statement, "To provide innovative, clean and energy‑efficient solutions for a better tomorrow", focuses on addressing key environmental issues such as global climate change. As an energy‑saving solutions provider with core competencies in power electronics and automation, Delta’s business categories include Power Electronics, Mobility, Automation, and Infrastructure.
Why Join Us?
Join a global team shaping the future of data center and energy infrastructure solutions. You’ll lead high‑impact, customer‑facing initiatives, work with industry‑leading partners, and turn cutting‑edge technologies into scalable, sustainable solutions, while growing your career in a collaborative and innovative environment.
About the role
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic leader to own our "Solution as a Product" offering for microgrids. Initially focused on data centers and energy infrastructure, this role will expand to cover Delta’s microgrid solutions across all market segments.
Although based in the U.S., this is a global role requiring close collaboration with teams in Europe and Asia. You will work closely with Delta’s product‑specific managers to integrate their roadmaps into a cohesive solution architecture. In essence, you will define and deliver a solution‑as‑a‑product built from modular building blocks across multiple domains—like assembling a Lego set.
The ideal candidate brings a deep background in power systems and power electronics, complemented by working knowledge of controls and software, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires the ability to translate complex technical and architectural concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences, including customers, product managers, and global engineering teams. Prior experience in customer‑facing roles, cross‑regional collaboration, and strategic leadership is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and influence a cross‑functional global team of domain‑specific product managers toward a unified end‑to‑end solution architecture.
- Set clear goals, articulate expectations, and ensure alignment across global teams and organizational boundaries.
- Foster a collaborative culture focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Define, articulate, and drive the solution‑as‑a‑product roadmap, lifecycle management, and influence key engineering decisions.
- Analyze global standards, market/customer requirements, and their impact on the portfolio.
- Conduct market sizing, trend analysis, competitor benchmarking, and identify offering gaps.
- Ensure technical solutions (e.g., modular architecture, standardized control platforms, software stacks, grid compliance) are scalable, reusable, and future‑ready.
- Manage technical specifications and support business cases for new developments and cost optimization.
- Drive design‑to‑cost initiatives to achieve KPIs such as low cost‑per‑kWh without compromising quality.
- Leverage Delta’s technical expertise to create differentiated solutions while managing technical and commercial risks.
- Make strategic make/buy/partner decisions with strong technical and commercial acumen.
- Coordinate certification pathways (IEC/UL), sustainability deliverables (EPDs, circularity), and preconfigured solution codes.
- Maintain clear communication in Agile ceremonies and roadmap updates.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in global product management or portfolio leadership within energy systems, microgrids, or power conversion technologies.
- MS in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D. preferred).
- Strong understanding of power systems, power electronics, and sufficient knowledge of software stacks and controls.
- Proven experience interacting with large cross‑functional and global teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with cost modeling and competitor benchmarking.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., Mandarin) are a plus.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
- Demonstrated ability to solve customer problems, push technology boundaries, and manage time horizons with clarity.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
