Job summary

Jobtailor in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and roadmap for key medical device products. You will partner with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Sales, and Clinical teams to translate market insights into successful product definitions and launches.

You will drive competitive analysis, market research, and VOC initiatives, while shaping messaging, segmentation, and channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years
  • 5+ years in marketing, strategy, business, or sales operations
  • Minimum 3+ years in product management for medical devices

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and review short- and long-range plans for assigned products or lines
  • Define and maintain product vision, strategy, and roadmap
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research
  • Drive market analysis, segmentation, and positioning
  • Identify unmet customer needs and commercial opportunities
  • Develop product user needs, marketing strategies, and lifecycle tactics
  • Lead VOC and VOI activities and translate insights into requirements
  • Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Sales, Clinical, and Medical Affairs
  • Finalize product specifications with cross-functional teams
  • Serve as technical adviser, demo products, and troubleshoot issues
  • Visit accounts to solicit feedback and support launches
  • Ensure patient safety and product quality across initiatives
  • Manage complex projects, delegate, review deliverables, and coach teams

Job description

• Formulate and review short- and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for assigned products or product lines
• Define and maintain product vision, strategy, and roadmap
• Conduct competitive product analysis and market research
• Determine profitability and viability of new products and enhancements
• Drive market analysis, segmentation, and positioning development
• Identify unmet customer needs and commercial opportunities
• Develop product user needs, marketing strategies, and tactics across the product lifecycle
• Lead voice-of-customer and voice-of-business activities
• Convert customer and business insights into clear product requirements
• Work with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Sales, Clinical, and Medical Affairs to align product definition and development
• Finalize product specifications with cross-functional teams
• Serve as technical adviser, demonstrate products, and troubleshoot product issues
• Challenge assumptions and refine product decisions with global counterparts
• Visit accounts and users to solicit feedback on company products and services
• Consolidate and disseminate understanding of the global electrophysiology ablation landscape
• Support regional marketing and sales team training
• Develop marketing insights for segmentation, positioning, messaging, channels, tools, and execution
• Network across divisions and cross-functional departments to align strategies and opportunities
• Maintain primary commitment to patient safety and product quality
• Manage complex projects, delegate work, review deliverables, and provide guidance or coaching

Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in marketing, strategy, business, and/or sales operations
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in product management in a commercial medical device setting
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to drive communications strategies and influence stakeholders
  • Proven business acumen
  • Experience with secondary, primary qualitative, and primary quantitative research techniques
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with Marketing, Clinical, R&D, Health Economics, and Sales stakeholders
  • Clinical and/or product marketing experience
  • Experience with market and revenue modeling
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence key stakeholders without direct authority
  • Flexibility to travel up to 20%, including international travel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines
  • Specific medical device experience in the electrophysiology field
  • Proven physician and KOL engagement track record
  • Single-use device and capital product launch experience
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
  • Advanced education combined with experience; broad project management knowledge may be required
