Job summary

This role emphasizes stocking models, MRP-driven actions, and ethical sourcing, requiring an associate degree and 3+ years in procurement or related roles, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Experience using MRP/ERP systems to drive purchasing actions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier management.
• Solid understanding of inventory control techniques and replenishment concepts.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams (Planning, Operations, Finance).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management (35%): Implement stocking models considering demand, lead times, logistics, and supplier capabilities; review and adjust stocking models to maintain optimal inventory; identify inventory risks and communicate mitigation options; maintain purchasing master data (lead times, order quantities, safety stock).
• Procurement (30%): Execute MRP action messages and translate demand into timely purchase actions; create and manage purchase orders aligned with cost, quality, and delivery targets; confirm acknowledgments and update stakeholders; resolve supplier issues (price, delivery, invoices).
• Supplier Relationship Management (10%): Build strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and quality; document delivery/quality issues and escalate as needed; support supplier performance tracking; promote ethical sourcing and sustainability.
• Collaboration (25%): Partner with Demand Planning on forecasts; coordinate with Operations, Warehousing/Logistics, and Finance to align purchasing with production and cash flow; provide clear status updates for cross-functional decisions.
