Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Data Protection and Privacy Specialist in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid). You will support the Privacy Office across global lines of business, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements.

The role involves privacy inventories, PIAs, DPIAs, policy drafting, vendor evaluations, and training support. Strong experience in privacy, audits, and information security is required, with a preference for certifications such as CIPM or CISSP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–4 years of related privacy, audit, information security or risk management experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Certification in privacy or security is preferred (e.g., CIPM, CIPP EU/A/C/US, CISSP).

Responsibilities

• Keep up to date with global data privacy laws and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct privacy inventory, PIAs and DPIAs for processing activities.
• Respond to inquiries in privacy mailbox; provide guidance or escalate.
• Perform privacy vendor evaluations to assess third-party risks.
• Identify privacy risk areas with business lines and implement controls.
• Draft and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Review changes to laws/regulations and interpret impacts.
• Assist with annual privacy training and awareness programs.
• Support Data Subject Access Request procedures.
• Align risk and control processes with day-to-day responsibilities to monitor risk.
• Stay current on evolving technologies and related data protection risks.
• Assist with data breach investigations, reporting and trend analysis.
