Job summary

Universal Music Group in Santa Monica is seeking a Director, Privacy & Data Protection to lead UMG’s global privacy program, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, handling data subject rights requests, and guiding incident responses across business units.

The role requires a JD from an accredited law school, 8+ years of privacy-related experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and familiarity with CCPA/CPRA and GDPR.

Qualifications

8+ years of relevant legal experience with privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Draft, review and negotiate data protection and privacy terms in commercial agreements.
Partner with Legal, Information Security, and Business teams on privacy issues across vendors and platforms.
Handle data subject and consumer privacy rights requests and respond to inquiries.
