Universal Music Group seeks a Vice President, Data Governance & Strategy to lead enterprise data governance and strategy across music rights, royalties, digital consumption, fan engagement, e-commerce and merchandise. This senior leader will champion a data‑driven culture and ensure compliant, trusted data to enable monetization and growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in data governance or data strategy.
• Deep understanding of music rights, publishing, royalties, and global distribution models.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISRC, ISWC, IPI.
• Hands-on experience with data governance, catalog, and rights/royalty platforms.
• Ability to lead at executive level and drive enterprise data transformation.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the enterprise data strategy to support growth and monetization.
• Identify new fan data sources and partnerships aligned with strategy.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Security and Technology to ensure compliant data usage.
• Lead governance standards across platforms, processes, and workflows.
• Promote data literacy and accountability across the organization.
