Job summary

Pegasystems seeks a strategic legal leader to oversee global privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance from New York, partnering with executives to shape cross-border compliance and major client contracts. You will mentor a team and align security policies with international requirements, including cloud deployments and SaaS strategies.

Responsibilities include policy development, contract language, and advising on regulatory matters at the highest level to enable enterprise-wide innovation

Qualifications

• Extensive cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI expertise.
• Experience with complex software license and service contracts.
• JD degree.
• Led a legal privacy/AI/cyber function at a major SaaS company for 7+ years.
• 15+ years drafting privacy, cybersecurity, and AI provisions in tech agreements, with cloud experience.
• In-house advisor for strategic privacy/cyber/AI decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on compliance covering data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance and compliance.
• Stay current with evolving global regulatory and legislative changes, including relevant acts.
• Develop global policies aligning security with regulatory requirements.
• Support the Business Officer in negotiating client contracts for cybersecurity, privacy, and AI terms.
• Develop contract language, contract playbooks, and fallback positions for deal scenarios.
• Lead and develop a team of legal professionals focused on cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI.
• Leverage dotted-line resources without direct reporting relationships.
