Job summary

WITRON Group in Arlington Heights, IL seeks a PLC Commissioner who will serve as the controls and automation expert for WITRON's systems. You will commission, program, test and optimize PLC-driven equipment, leading startup activities and supporting customers across the US with extensive travel.

The role requires an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, PLC knowledge (Siemens a plus) and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
Basic knowledge of industrial automation.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
PLC programming knowledge; Siemens is a plus.
Understanding of motors, servo systems and VFDs.
Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams literacy; AutoCAD a plus.
Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems.
Ability to work in team or independently.
Willingness to travel frequently across the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Responsibilities

Modify, maintain and repair electronics equipment to ensure proper function.
Set up and operate test equipment to diagnose component performance.
Design, program, test and resolve PLC-related faults for automated handling systems.
Replace defective parts with precision tools.
Collaborate with onsite teams to resolve equipment issues.
Travel extensively to support onsite teams.
