Job summary

The Northern Trust Company seeks a senior Platform Engineering leader to own and optimize the end-to-end developer experience, from build to runtime. You will design DevSecOps pipelines, drive platform standards, and lead product management for shared engineering services across the firm.

You will collaborate with Security, SRE, Risk, and Architecture teams, measuring productivity with data and metrics, and guiding modernization and AI-enabled improvements. US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 20+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong background in platform engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure.
• Ability to translate business, developer, and platform needs into a clear product strategy, measurable outcomes, and an actionable backlog.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end developer experience across build, test, deployment, and runtime.
• Design, build, and maintain DevSecOps integrations and pipelines to enable efficient, reliable software delivery.
• Lead the product management function for Platform Engineering with vision, roadmap, and priorities.
• Drive adoption of standards, tools, and practices across engineering teams, including agile delivery.
