Job summary

Destaco in Cypress, California, is seeking a Plastics Project Engineer to develop and manage long-term tooling and supplier strategies for injection-molded components. You will drive supplier qualification, CapEx ROI, and cross-functional program execution to ensure quality, cost savings, and on-time production.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in injection molding, tooling development, and project management, with a BA/BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in injection molding, tooling development, PM and cost-saving in lean manufacturing.
• Experience with multi-cavity hot/cold runner tooling on 100–400 ton machines.
• BA/BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year plastics tooling roadmap for global resilience.
• Lead supplier selection, RFQ evaluations and regular supplier audits.
• Develop CapEx justifications and ROI models for tooling investments.
• Drive cost optimization and standardization across the supplier network.
• Orchestrate tooling transfers and govern NPIs with cross-functional teams.
