Job summary

Profound is rapidly growing its payroll platform across the US, UK, Singapore, and Argentina. The Payroll Manager will run end-to-end payroll, administer deductions and benefits, manage contractor payments, and respond to employee inquiries with confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of payroll experience, including multi-country payroll.
• Hands-on US payroll across multiple states and at least one other country.
• Experience with an EOR/PEO to cover countries without a local entity.
• Deep knowledge of payroll tax and compliance.
• Experience with equity compensation mechanics and cap table tools like Carta.
• Experience with commissions and variable pay structures.
• Cross-functional partnership with Sales Ops and RevOps.
• Solid accounting fundamentals: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end payroll for US, UK, Singapore, and Argentina, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions and other variable pay.
• Administer deductions and benefit contributions, including 401(k) remittances, garnishments, and pension contributions.
• Manage contractor payments and maintain worker classification documentation with People and Legal.
• Respond to employee questions on pay, deductions, taxes, and benefits, and protect confidentiality of payroll data.
• Lead payroll expansion into new countries, from registrations to first-run readiness.
• Build payroll calendars, checklists, SOPs, and internal controls; implement AI/workflow automation to reduce manual work.
• Evaluate AI-enabled payroll tools and HRIS features, and recommend adoption based on accuracy, cost, and risk.
