Perplexity AI is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team. You will partner with the Payroll Manager to ensure US and international payroll is accurate, compliant, and timely as we scale through rapid hiring and global expansion.

This hands-on role involves close collaboration with People Operations, Accounting, Tax, and Equity, handling US multi-state payroll, international cycles, and contractor payroll with a focus on accuracy and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including multi-state US payroll.
• Experience with Rippling or similar payroll/HRIS platforms.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets and data reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day US multi-state semi-monthly payroll processing and assist with international payroll cycles.
• Run the monthly global contractor payroll cycle.
• Perform pre- and post-payroll audits; reconcile deductions and employer matches.
• Support state payroll tax accounts and benefits/401(k) administration.
• Assist with quarter-end and year-end close activities and W-2s.
