Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking a Director of Payroll to lead payroll strategy and operations for North America and global locations. You will oversee GAAP-compliant processes, governance, and system changes while partnering with HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, IT, and business leaders.

The role requires hands-on Workday Payroll experience and ADP Vantage expertise to design future-state payroll platforms and operating models. This hybrid role is based in Texas with on-site presence required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience and ADP payroll processing experience.
• At least 12 years of progressive payroll experience with leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll across U.S. and Canadian entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee governance, controls, and audits for payroll processes.
• Manage vendor relationships and system transformation projects.
• Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor payroll performance.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, IT and business leaders.
• Supervise payroll team and support succession planning.
