Job summary

Azenta Inc. in Burlington, MA is seeking a Director, Payroll to lead the European and U.S. payroll functions, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing across multiple jurisdictions.

This onsite role is central to global payroll governance and system optimization. You will partner with HR, Corporate Finance and IT, supervise expatriate payroll matters, and drive continuous improvements, while maintaining audit readiness and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, multi-country across Europe and US.
• Experience with Workday payroll and major ERP systems.
• Experience coordinating with in-country payroll providers and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bi-weekly US payroll for 25+ states and UK/Europe jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations and remittance obligations.
• Govern external payroll providers and in-country partners with controls.
• Optimize Workday payroll processes and support audits and remediation.
