Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a senior QA Automation Engineer to design and implement robust test strategies across UI, API, and backend layers. You will leverage Java, Selenium, and Cucumber to build scalable frameworks and ensure quality in treasury and payments systems.

Job description

• Test and deliver complex software requirements to accomplish business outcomes
• Establish test and automation strategies across UI, API, and backend application layers
• Create common test frameworks and optimize test automation processes
• Define and manage test processes, including test data generation, defect management, and reporting
• Lead testing activities across treasury and payment systems
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts across functional, integration, and component testing phases
• Perform end-to-end validation with cross-functional teams
• Analyze and validate data using complex SQL queries across multiple systems
• Validate XML/JSON payloads and API integrations
• Analyze mappings, workflows, and middleware processes for accurate data transformation
• Contribute to Java, Selenium, and Cucumber automation frameworks
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration and deployment
• Identify, document, and resolve data quality and integrity issues through root cause analysis
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage
• Use UNIX scripting and regular expressions for data parsing, validation, and transformation
• Drive shared services, automation, quality governance, metrics, and quality gates
• Provide transparency on quality health, risks, and release readiness
• Mentor team members and promote QA and automation best practices
• Lead cross-team test planning and execution across Agile teams
• Maintain continuity and consistency across releases

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in treasury, payments, and transaction services
• Relevant IT experience in Agile environments, preferably within the financial domain
• Strong understanding of system design and microservices architecture
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing frameworks (Cucumber, JUnit, Litmus)
• Strong experience in Java, web services, and SQL/PLSQL (Oracle)
• Strong knowledge of XML and JSON within API and microservices implementations at scale
• Advanced SQL skills with ability to write complex cross-system queries
• Experience with UNIX, shell scripting, and regular expressions (RegEx)
• Strong experience (3+ years) parsing and generating data/files, banking standards, XML, and XPath
• Hands-on experience with Eclipse/NetBeans, TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, Litmus, Bitbucket or similar version control tools, and web services testing tools
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and triaging skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (desired qualification)
• Exposure to cloud technologies and containerization
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving, and leadership capabilities
• Ability to operate effectively in a highly Agile CI/CD environment
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt
