Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to join a cross-functional Agile team focused on banking solutions. You will own test strategy and automation framework development for web, API, data extraction, and mobile areas, delivering scalable automation across loan lifecycle modules.

The role requires strong domain knowledge in commercial loan systems, end-to-end lifecycle, and collaboration with product, development, QA, and stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an Agile squad, chapter, and tribe while leading quality engineering efforts and collaborating across teams.
  • Take ownership of test strategy, test planning, automation framework implementation, and test execution.
  • Design and develop new test automation frameworks using a variety of automation tools.
  • Develop reusable framework components and maintain clean, structured, cohesive, and maintainable automation code.
  • Apply software design principles and innovative testing approaches to complex software solutions.
  • Design and implement automated and exploratory tests for new features and functional changes.
  • Drive automation initiatives for API/web services testing, Web UI testing, data extraction scripts, database testing, and test data management based on business needs.
  • Author comprehensive test cases in test management tools and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Perform functional, API, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Efficiently reproduce reported software issues, analyze data, identify root causes, and collaborate with team members to resolve defects.
  • Maintain existing automation code and continuously improve testing frameworks, tools, and processes.
  • Leverage AI capabilities such as self-healing locators and AI-assisted failure analysis where applicable, including solutions using Katalon and WebdriverIO.
  • Collaborate with product, development, QA, and other stakeholders to define customer and product requirements and align them with product and test code.
  • Communicate testing risks, concerns, ideas, and solutions clearly while adhering to quality governance standards and procedures.

Job description

The QA Automation Engineer will serve as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) within a cross-functional Agile environment, driving quality engineering practices and test automation excellence. The role requires strong banking domain expertise, particularly in commercial loan systems and the complete end-to-end loan lifecycle.
