Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Director, Risk Advisory for the Global Payment Network to lead risk management for network and merchant services worldwide. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert for one scheme (PULSE, Discover, or Diners) and ensures alignment with enterprise risk policies while guiding executives on risk and compliance considerations.

You will coach and develop the Risk Advisory Team, collaborate across lines of defense, and support regulatory exam preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience required.
• At least 10 years of legal, compliance, or risk management experience OR regulatory experience in consumer financial services/payments.
• At least 5 years of people management experience.
• At least 5 years of experience consulting with and presenting to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with first and second line functions to analyze the risk management program for network and merchant services.
• Provide advice and challenge on risks impacting network and merchant businesses to senior leaders.
• Advise business leaders on regulatory requirements, policies, and industry standards.
• Develop deep understanding of end-to-end network and merchant processes worldwide.
• Identify trends in data and assess network payments risks; monitor emerging risks.
