Job summary

Stripe is seeking Backend engineers to influence money management at a global scale by building ergonomic APIs and expanding a balance management platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—from Infrastructure to Product—to deliver innovative solutions for enterprise and SMB users.

You will work on extending funds accessibility and ensure scalable, reliable services, with a focus on growth and security across payment-related platforms.

Qualifications

• 2–12+ years of industry software engineering experience (excludes internships/co-ops).
• Strong coding skills in any programming language; language agnostic interview process.
• Strong collaboration skills across workstreams.
• Ability to work with high autonomy and take ownership.
• Interest in being a generalist across technologies and stacks.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and large-scale systems for billions of money-movement requests.
• Debug and resolve production issues across services and layers of the stack.
• Mentor engineers to grow professionally.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build new features at scale and improve internal standards, tooling, and processes.
• Collaborate effectively in a distributed and hybrid team with open communication.
