Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect for RDS for Oracle and Oracle Database @AWS. You will architect, migrate, and operate Oracle workloads at scale for AWS's largest customers, partnering with customer engineers and CTOs to design well-architected production architectures.

You will mentor teammates, publish technical content, and present at AWS events, while staying current with Oracle developments to guide product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (software, cloud, systems, infrastructure, security)
• 3+ years design/implementation/consulting in applications/infrastructures
• 10+ years IT development or consulting in software/Internet industries
• Experience owning and leading significant projects from concept to deployment
• Experience architecting or operating Oracle solutions at scale (multi-TB databases, many connections)
• Fluent in Python/Java and AI tooling familiarity (e.g., Codex, Claude Code)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical advisor for AWS key customers running or migrating to RDS for Oracle and Oracle Database @AWS, providing hands-on architectural guidance from design through production operation.
• Guide customers on RDS operational best practices including performance, scaling, high availability, monitoring, maintenance, backup, and security.
• Design and validate RDS Oracle architectures that leverage RDS-specific capabilities, ensuring customers realize full platform value.
• Partner with the RDS service team as the voice of the customer, surfacing recurring pain points and participating in roadmap reviews.
• Engage with customer engineers in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep dives, offering candid guidance at scale.
