Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect for RDS for Oracle and Oracle Database @AWS to architect, migrate, and operate Oracle workloads at scale. You will partner with customer engineers and CTOs to design production architectures that endure real-world pressure and drive the product roadmap on behalf of customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering)
• 3+ years design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
• 10+ years IT development or consulting experience
• Experience in Oracle DB, or software development and technical support
• Experience owning and leading significant projects from concept to deployment
• Experience architecting or operating Oracle solutions at scale (multi-TB databases, tens of thousands of connections, cross-region replication)
• Software development experience (Python, Java), and fluency with AI tooling (Kiro, Claude Code, Codex)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical advisor for AWS's key customers running or migrating to RDS for Oracle and Oracle Database @AWS
• Guide customers on RDS operational best practices including performance, scaling, HA, durability, monitoring, maintenance, patching, backup and recovery, security
• Design and validate RDS Oracle architectures leveraging RDS-specific capabilities
• Partner with the RDS service team as the voice of the customer, surfacing pain points and contributing to the roadmap
• Engage with customer engineers in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep dives
• Develop and publish technical thought leadership content and reusable artifacts
• Advise customers on complex database migrations
• Present at AWS re:Invent, AWS Summits, and other events
• Stay current with Oracle developments and translate them into guidance for AWS customers
