Job summary

Amazon’s Global Engineering Services North America Operations Engineering team seeks an innovative Operations Engineer to root cause and scale systemic engineering challenges in First and Middle Mile operations. You will lead projects across sortation and distribution, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to deliver cost-effective, high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL.
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors.
• Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
• Experience developing and implementing standards, policies and programs.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network including process design and site layout.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate cost-effective solutions in short timeframes.
• Manage multiple projects and communicate with partners, contractors, and vendors.
• Effectively communicate vision, roadmap, and technical solutions.
• Travel requirements: 50-70%.
