Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, or Upper Gwynedd, PA, seeks an Associate Director of Global Oncology Communications to lead external communications for the oncology portfolio. Hybrid work arrangement with in-office and remote days.

You will shape editorial strategies, manage data-driven and regulatory milestones, and brief senior leaders. Requires strong leadership, global experience, and pharma communications expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or life sciences is required.
• Minimum five years’ experience in communications or public relations; healthcare/pharma experience in a global company preferred.
• Product communications experience including data/regulatory milestone handling; launch experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communications for oncology in-line products and Phase 3 assets.
• Drive editorial strategy to raise external awareness through social and digital channels.
• Identify storylines, media opportunities and thought leadership for late-stage assets.
• Brief oncology leaders on message delivery, media engagement and external speaking.
• Develop materials for regions and subsidiaries worldwide; advise on franchise/ product issues.
• Manage materials through medical/legal review with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with public relations agencies and manage budgets.
