Nippon Express USA is seeking an organized Import Agent to support transloading, project cargo, and trucking coordination. You will prepare import shipments, manage documentation, and assist with customs processes while collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Flexibility for scheduling is required.

The role emphasizes analytical thinking, knowledge of international trade terms, and strong communication skills to ensure accurate, timely handling of shipments and billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or significant relevant experience.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and AS/400.
• Analytical skills with logistics concepts and planning understanding.
• Knowledge of international commerce terms and regulations.
• Familiarity with consolidator systems and DOT/ICC regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist transloading and project cargo (PECNA, Yazaki, TSMC).
• Manage trucking company activities including rate and safety audits.
• Handle job assignments and provide support to import documentation.
• Prepare import shipments, customs clearance, labeling, and distribution.
• Coordinate pickups/deliveries with carriers and brokers; filing and data entry.
• Issue freight bills and pursue unpaid invoices within terms.
