People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists in Dallas, TX is seeking an Ocean Import Coordinator to manage shipments from arrival through final delivery, coordinating bookings, customs clearance and final documentation with proactive customer updates. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in ocean import within a freight forwarding environment, solid ISF and import compliance knowledge, and strong communication and organizational skills.

CargoWise experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of ocean import experience within a freight forwarding environment.
• Knowledge of ISF, customs procedures and import compliance.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import shipments from arrival through final delivery.
• Coordinate bookings, arrivals, customs clearance, delivery and final documentation.
• Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and import documentation.
• Track shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Coordinate with steamship lines, customs brokers, truckers, overseas agents and customers.
• Handle ISF filings and ensure import documentation is accurate and compliant.
• Review and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays and delivery issues.
• Communicate with overseas offices and agents to ensure smooth shipment coordination.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update the company's operating system.
• Assist with billing, invoicing and closing files as required.
• Provide a high level of customer service throughout the import process.
