Job summary

ByteDance is seeking an Associate Technology Planning Specialist in San Jose to support server, storage, and infrastructure sourcing. You will work closely with senior team members to learn the space while contributing real value from day one.

You will help identify and evaluate resources like co-location, dark fiber, and network connectivity, while engaging in commercial discussions with suppliers and coordinating contracts across teams.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); willingness to learn tools like Jira and contract management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure and data center resource identification and evaluation (co-location, dark fiber, transport network, IP connectivity).
• Assist with commercial and technical discussions with suppliers under guidance from senior negotiators.
• Coordinate supplier agreements and contracts with cross-functional teams to track milestones and deliverables.
• Contribute to acquisition strategy discussions for short-, mid-, and long-term planning.
• Collaborate with Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Legal, Finance to support shared goals.
• Conduct market research and build market intelligence on suppliers and industry trends.
• Support supplier onboarding and maintain supplier relationship records.
