Job summary

Meta is seeking a Network Production Engineer to design, build, and operate our massive backbone, data center, and AI network infrastructure. You will own automation, tooling, and CI pipelines across global networks, partnering with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, handle on-call rotations, mentor peers, and help advance AI-enabled networking initiatives at scale across Meta's global network footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience with planning, designing, building and/or operating scalable systems/networks
• 4+ years of coding experience in Python/Go/C++/Java, and willingness to learn new languages
• Knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, BGP/MPLS/ISIS, DHCP/DNS
• Experience in multi-vendor network device configuration
• Hardware evaluation and vendor management
• Experience developing software using AI models

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement global best practices and design new, scalable network solutions
• Build and maintain automation and tools to support product introductions, network deployment, release engineering, and operations
• Design and develop solutions that scale across hardware platforms of network equipment
• Lead enhancements of automation for CI, validations, testing infrastructure, release, and configuration management
• Work with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to develop new networking solutions
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks, tooling, hardware failures and network issues
• Develop operational process improvements and implement scalable automated workflows
• Increase operational efficiency by identifying roadblocks and driving automation projects
• Identify gaps that impact multiple teams and drive execution plans
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor the team
