Job summary

Meta is seeking a Network Production Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable datacenter and backbone networks. You will develop automation, contribute to AI network workloads, and help drive efficiency across global networks.

The role blends software and networking, requiring collaboration with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to deliver high reliability and scale. You will participate in on-call rotations and mentor peers while shaping the future of our network infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience designing, building, or operating scalable systems/networks
• Experience coding in at least one language (Python/C++/Go/Rust/Java) and learning new languages quickly
• Knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, routing protocols (e.g., BGP/MPLS/ISIS) and related services
• Experience configuring network devices in multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Arista)
• Experience with network devices, NMS, databases, or related services
• Hardware evaluation and vendor management experience

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement global best practices and scalable network solutions
• Develop automation and tools for product introductions, deployment, and operations
• Design and develop solutions that scale across diverse hardware platforms
• Lead automation enhancements for CI, testing, release, and configuration management
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams for new networking solutions
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks, tooling, hardware failures
• Improve operational efficiency through automated workflows
• Identify roadblocks and drive cross-team automation initiatives
• Proactively identify gaps and drive execution plans across teams
• Participate in on-call rotations to learn from production challenges
• Mentor team members and contribute to team growth
