Job summary

Moderna is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to manage daily network operations, troubleshoot Tier 1–2 issues, and support escalation paths. You’ll report to the Senior Manager - Network Operations and help maintain a stable, well‑monitored global network.

The role involves on‑call rotation, collaboration with Cisco, Palo Alto, and other vendors, and contributing to documentation, monitoring, and improvement of network processes. A 70/30 in‑office model applies to Moderna's working approach.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in network engineering, operations, or related technical role.
• Strong fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, switching, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, security concepts.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networks: routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, WAN, remote access.
• Experience troubleshooting connectivity, latency, routing, firewall, and application access issues.
• Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and high-availability designs.
• Experience with network monitoring and observability tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, ThousandEyes, LogicMonitor, PRTG).
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment; on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily network operations and support Tier 1–2 issues.
• Investigate incidents, perform triage, and coordinate with senior engineers for escalation.
• Maintain network documentation, runbooks, and change management records.
• Monitor network performance, respond to alerts, and drive proactive remediation.
• Collaborate with vendors and cross‑functional teams for incident resolution and reporting.
