Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support the health and stability of its global network infrastructure. The role involves handling underlay and overlay networking, onboarding BYO-BGP customers, and driving improvements across platforms.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in BGP-based networks, familiarity with VxLAN/EVPN, Linux administration, and scripting in Python with Ansible a plus. Remote options and healthcare benefits are included.

Qualifications

Experience in network operations troubleshooting and deployment of changes.
1–2 years’ experience with BGP-based networks and Internet-scale routing concepts.
Understanding of VxLAN, EVPN technologies.
Basic Linux administration (Debian preferred) and routing tools such as FRR/Bird.
Cloud networking knowledge including VPCs, Direct Connect, IPsec.
Ability to document troubleshooting processes for repeatable tasks.
Knowledge of Python scripting and Ansible playbooks is a plus.

Responsibilities

Onboard BYO-BGP customers and troubleshoot performance issues related to availability and latency.
Research network events and drive end-to-end improvements across platforms.
Create and test procedure documentation for scheduled maintenance.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve network issues quickly and automate where possible.
