Job summary

Contabo Group seeks a Senior Network Engineer to own network fabric across data centres with Leaf-Spine architecture, BGP EVPN VXLAN, and Arista/Cisco platforms. You will lead design, deployment, and operation while collaborating with Platform Engineering on IPAM and Kubernetes networking.

The role emphasizes security, DDoS mitigation, monitoring with Grafana/Check_MK/Zabbix, and automation via Ansible/Terraform/Python.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience with complex, scalable networks and fabric infrastructures on Cisco and/or Arista, ideally with Leaf-Spine, BGP EVPN VXLAN exposure.
Strong expertise in WAN connectivity, data centre peering, uplink management, VPN, and IPv6.
Security administration and DDoS mitigation experience (e.g. Nokia Deepfield) with solid monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate complex network, server, and security systems.
Analyse faults and harden network security via scrubbers, firewalls, ACLs, and NAC.
Monitor traffic and performance, derive KPIs, and coordinate with service providers.
Maintain diagrams, runbooks, change logs, and documentation; collaborate with Platform Engineering on IPAM and Kubernetes networking.
