Job summary

Meta's Network Infrastructure team is seeking a Network Production Engineer to design, build, and operate our worldwide backbone, data center, and edge networks. You will work on scalable automation, tooling, and AI-driven networking challenges that support Meta's family of apps.

Hybrid role in the United States with responsibilities spanning design, deployment, QA, release engineering, and on-call support to ensure reliability and efficiency at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience building or operating scalable networks/systems.
• Proficient in at least one programming language (Python/C++/Go/Rust/Java) and quick to learn new languages.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP/MPLS/ISIS) and related network services.
• Experience configuring network devices across multiple vendors (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade).
• Experience with NMS systems or applications like web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage, and messaging systems.
• Hardware evaluation and vendor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement global best practices and scalable network design.
• Build and maintain automation and tools for product introductions, deployment, and operations.
• Design solutions that scale across diverse hardware platforms.
• Lead automation enhancements for CI, testing, release, and configuration management.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to develop networking solutions.
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks, tooling, hardware failures.
• Improve operational processes with scalable, automated workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive automation to improve efficiency.
• Proactively identify gaps and drive cross-team execution plans.
• Participate in on-call rotations to learn from production challenges.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to team growth.
