Job summary

GM Financial Technology is hiring a Network Technical Principal to lead the architecture and engineering of our Global Enterprise Network, focusing on SDN, Core Routing, Automation and Security. You will guide a team of engineers, handle Tier III escalations, and drive automation to improve efficiency.

Based in Arlington, TX with a flexible hybrid schedule (2 days in-office, 3 remote). The role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, network security, and hands-on leadership in enterprise

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of OSFP and BGP with advanced routing techniques.
• Campus network design including VRF, VSS, vPC, Spanning Tree.
• SD-WAN (Viptela/Cisco) and SDN (Cisco ACI).
• Network automation using Ansible, Terraform, REST API.
• Cloud data centers (Equinix, Azure).
• Cisco ISE with 802.1X/AAA/ACS; WLC/site surveys.
• CCIE or equivalent knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect and engineer the Global Enterprise Network (SDN, Core Routing, Automation, Security).
• Lead, coach, and mentor junior engineers; manage escalations.
• Develop automation workflows with Terraform and Ansible.
• Document policies, diagrams, and standards; ensure change control compliance.
• Provide Tier III support and collaborate with IT teams, troubleshoot network issues to enable new solutions.
• Follow change procedures for maintenance and enhancements.
