Job summary

ByteDance in Seattle is seeking a server and storage hardware architect and technology planning expert to join our Data Center Development team. You will lead acquisition strategies for co-locations, dark fiber, transport, IP and related services to support edge and backbone networks and ensure optimal performance for users.

You will negotiate with suppliers, manage contracts, collaborate with Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Legal and Finance, and build a sustainable supplier ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a business, technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years experience in infrastructure industry for acquisition, sourcing, engineering, finance or related functions.
• Experience with Edge Co-locations, Data Center, and/or ISP/Carrier/CDN/IX providers in NA/LA markets.
• Experience in commercial and contractual negotiations.
• Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure infrastructure resources (co-location, connectivity) from commercial perspective to meet traffic demand.
• Lead commercial and technical negotiations with candidate suppliers.
• Negotiate and implement complex supplier agreements with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and manage acquisition strategies for short-, mid-, and long-term goals.
• Collaborate with Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct market research and manage supplier lifecycle to support growth.
