Job summary

TJFACT, the Department of State – INL unit-based team in Washington, DC, seeks a well-versed International Negotiations Program Assistant to support funding, interagency delegations, and international negotiation efforts on behalf of INL.

The role involves coordinating LOAs, preparing for meetings, and providing logistics and briefing materials to enable U.S. participation in international fora, including UN and IO engagements.

Qualifications

  • Active security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in relevant field.
  • Ability to work on projects within policy guidelines.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of international narcotics and law enforcement issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide advice, guidance, and consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating INL/FO/IN funding to UN and IO.
  • Prepare for USG reviews and approvals of LOAs with IOs.
  • Coordinate APCEDA adjustments and related processes.
  • Assist INL/FO/IN in outreach to INL Program Offices.
  • Coordinate U.S. delegations to drug control meetings.
  • Provide logistics and administrative support for international negotiations.
  • Prepare briefing materials and meeting documents.
  • Liaise with UNVIE and other posts for delegations logistics.
  • Develop U.S. position papers for INL Front Office meetings.
