Job summary

Madrigal, a biopharmaceutical company focused on metabolic dysfunction‑associated steatohepatitis (MASH), seeks a Global Medical Lead, MASH to drive the integrated medical strategy for resmetirom and future assets. You will lead a geographically dispersed Medical Affairs team and align evidence generation with portfolio priorities to maximize patient impact.

Ideal candidates have MD with 15+ years in pharma/biotech Medical Affairs, including US launches, and deep MASH/hepatology expertise.

Qualifications

• MD required; advanced clinical training in hepatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, internal medicine, metabolic disease, or related field is strongly preferred.
• PhD, MBA, or advanced training in clinical research, outcomes research, health policy, health economics, or business is a plus.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with substantial leadership experience within Medical Affairs – robust US launch experience is required.
• Proven experience representing Medical Affairs on senior cross-functional asset, brand, development, or lifecycle teams, with ability to influence enterprise decisions.
• Strong experience developing integrated medical and evidence strategies, including prioritization of scientific questions, evidence needs, stakeholder priorities, and investment decisions.
• Deep scientific/clinical understanding of MASH, hepatology, metabolic disease, or related area; direct experience in MASH/NAFLD/NASH or liver fibrosis is highly desirable.
• Track record of building, leading, and inspiring large, geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated global MASH medical plan and strategy across resmetirom and future assets, ensuring it is scientifically rigorous, strategically aligned, and deliverable across markets and stages.
• Lead the development and prioritization of asset-level evidence priorities and AOIs, aligning questions, unmet needs, and stakeholder needs to focus investments.
• Serve as the primary Medical representative on the Global Brand Team and oversee cross-functional medical strategy across Medical Affairs, Commercial, R&D, Market Access, Diagnostics, and International teams.
• Build and mentor a high-caliber team of Medical Directors supporting the MASH portfolio and foster a culture of scientific excellence, enterprise thinking, and responsible AI-enabled collaboration.
