IonQ is seeking a Global Media Relations Director to lead our global media strategy and external narrative. This role drives premium earned media, safeguards our brand, and articulates IonQ's leadership in quantum technology to business, financial, and tech audiences.

You will translate complex quantum hardware and software breakthroughs into clear, engaging stories while leveraging AI tools to sharpen decisions and outcomes. Remote US based with strong senior communication responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, journalism, English, or related field.
• 8+ years in media relations or corporate communications in a deep-tech or technical setting.
• Proven portfolio of earned media placements in top-tier financial and tech outlets.
• Strong ability to write clearly and quickly, translating technical data into business narratives.
• Experience media-training C-suite executives and PhD-level SMEs.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for drafting, monitoring, and sentiment analysis.
• Experience with late-stage startups or publicly traded deep-tech companies.
• Familiarity with SEC guidelines/Reg FD and financial media relations.
