Job summary
Celestica is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to lead cross‑functional design of complex semiconductor capital equipment and automation. You will bridge mechanical, electronics, and control systems while guiding global engineering teams and customers through architecture, SOW, and production-ready designs.
The role requires extensive RFQ/technical validation, V&V, and hands-on engineering with travel for on-site deployments and customer visits.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to design industrial robotics and automation systems.
- Deep knowledge of machined parts, sheet metal, welded frames, and piping/routing.
- Experience with FEA/CFD and DFMEA preferred.
- Expert-level CAD tools and production printing/GD&T.
- Ability to define high-level system architecture for mechatronic environments.
- Hands-on PLC programming and embedded systems experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and implementation of complex mechatronic systems.
- Analyze system trade-offs to recommend optimized architectures.
- Define engineering scope and transition prototypes to production.
- Perform rigorous calculations and simulations to validate performance.
- Ensure designs comply with UL, CE, ISO standards.
- Mentor global engineering teams as SME and support vendors.
