Job summary

ABB is seeking a Global Category Manager to own the mechanical category within the Analytical business line. The role involves turning strategy into action, consolidating global strategy with factories, and delivering a resilient, cost‑optimized supply chain across local, regional, and global teams.

You will develop and implement global strategies, lead sourcing efforts, and negotiate with key suppliers while managing contracts and supplier performance to meet financial targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and category management within mechanical components, castings, forgings, or plastics.
• Strong ability to build and execute global strategies with cross-functional alignment.
• Data-driven mindset for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global strategy for the mechanical category for the Analytical business line.
• Lead sourcing strategies using the CIPS process to ensure capability and capacity.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, renew price lists, and manage terms and conditions.
• Manage procurement planning, budgets, savings forecasts, and cost‑out programs.
• Identify, investigate, and select suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
