Job summary

Dematic is seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our Global Project Engineering team. The role supports design of complex systems and on-site installation at Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Atlanta, or Plano hubs.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of industry experience or in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Ability to understand project schedules, due dates, and basic financial aspects of project execution.
• Able to plan work for themselves and others to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the design of complex systems that integrate mechanical hardware, controls components, and software.
• Supports material specification and preparation of engineering sketches, manufacture equipment, and layout drawings.
• Proposes ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
• Creates & checks layouts, detailed drawings, Bills of Materials for compliance to engineering standards, safety requirements and customer specifications.
• Participates in design reviews with cross functional team members to identify and resolve clearly-defined problems.
• Follows Purchase Request and Order Entry processes to purchase equipment.
• Works with team members and customer to solve problems and troubleshoot equipment on-site.
• Performs site audits to collect project and solution information as required.
• Supports on-site installation and engineering commissioning efforts.
