Job summary

IMA Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for IMA Life North America in Buffalo, NY. The role involves designing pressure vessels per ASME VIII Div.

1, and creating systems with hydraulics, pneumatics, and aseptic production for pharmaceutical applications. Responsibilities include performing stress analyses and FEAs, supporting fabrication, piping, heat transfer, and controls, and aiding start‑up and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or related engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in engineering design and project execution.
• Proficiency in drawing software and general computer tools.
• Ability to work independently with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of pressure vessel design, including ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 standards, in the design of capital process equipment.
• Design machinery and systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and aseptic process machine production.
• Conduct stress analyses and finite element analyses (FEA) and work with stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, controls, and refrigeration systems.
• Develop and comprehend large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical and related applications.
• Manage projects, monitor cost variances, and interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Support equipment start‑up and validation activities.
• Promote and adhere to SHEQ (safety, health, environment, and quality) requirements.
