Job summary

IMA Life North America is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to collaborate with engineers to create and modify part and assembly models in 2D and 3D, and generate 2D drawings. You will maintain structured bills of materials and ensure drawings meet internal standards.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in mechanical design, a related degree, and experience with large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical applications.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Associates degree or higher in Drafting & Design Technology, Engineering Graphics or Engineering Technology preferred.
• Well organized with ability to schedule own workload.
• Ability to comprehend, understand design concepts for large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical and like applications.
• As key member of Project Team may be required to interact with customers and various internal/external personnel.
• Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.
• Consistently observe and promote SHEQ site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Works alongside mechanical engineers to create and modify part and assembly models in 2D and 3D and generate and modify 2D drawings based on these models.
• Maintain structured bills of material and parts lists for assemblies.
• Reviews drawings for layout, completeness, accuracy, constructability, and adherence to internal design/drafting standards.
• Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of internal design/drafting standards.
• Ensures that designs are consistent with internal standards, project technical requirements and scope.
• Checks assigned drawings supplied by vendors, clients and other discipline groups throughout the project to ensure quality designs.
• Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned design tasks.
