Sterling Industries in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Supply Chain professional to manage daily operations and drive improvements across suppliers, planning, and production. You will leverage ERP/MRP systems to optimize purchasing, inventory, and costs while coordinating with operations and finance.

This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel to USA and Canada as needed, and a focus on continuous improvement and customer service in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or relevant area is preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in an operational, materials, or purchasing department within manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP software for purchasing and production planning.
• Experience supporting business development projects with cross-functional teams.
• High volume workload requires conscientious attitude with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Manage the supply chain proactively to increase supplier core capabilities and reduce costs based on objectives and metrics.
• Utilize ERP/MRP software to automate purchasing and planning activities while reducing setup costs and inventory levels.
• Coordinate with operations to meet or exceed sustainment production planning goals.
• Maintain quality management system; supplier audits, internal audits, supplier & customer scorecards.
• Update inventory in the system and perform annual physical inventory; manage inventory system.
• Review PPV and standard costs quarterly in coordination with Finance to meet cost objectives.
• Issue POs for all non-production items and follow up with suppliers and freight companies to ensure on-time shipments.
• Manage transportation costs to meet annual objectives.
• Track material requirements for new projects and support projects with customers and supply chain.
• Lead in development and implementation of continuous improvement efforts within areas of responsibility.
