Job summary

Fluidstack in Austin, TX is seeking a senior leader for Global Sourcing and Materials Management to own end-to-end procurement for gigawatt-scale AI data centers. You will lead the materials management team, expedite capital equipment orders, and renegotiate delivery commitments to align with site schedules.

Read engineering drawings, manage multiple suppliers, travel to vendor sites, and own the root-cause analysis and reporting rhythm to PMs and leadership.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in global sourcing or supply chain for capital equipment or data center infrastructure.
• Led a team of buyers or materials managers, setting priorities and coaching expediting.
• Personally expedited capital equipment orders with direct schedule consequences and renegotiated delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the materials management team: set priorities and workload across the materials managers and coach their expediting practice.
• Work the hardest vendor recoveries yourself, expediting capital equipment orders with direct schedule consequences and renegotiating delivery commitments the site schedule can actually absorb.
• Own the consolidated root-cause and reporting rhythm to PMs and leadership, so every delivery miss has a documented cause and corrective action.
• Manage 4-5+ suppliers, CMs, and ODMs across concurrent project sites, ensuring capacity and lead times align with projects.
• Read engineering drawings and specs to catch scope discrepancies before issues arise.
• Travel to vendor sites to verify production status and push recoveries when needed.
